Mulberry Silk
Mulberry silk is so called because the cocoons used to produce this popular fabric feed primarily on the white mulberry plant. The fabric gets its signature off-white colour because of this. Having its roots in the Indus Valley Civilisation, mulberry silk is now produced all over India especially in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and Jammu & Kashmir.
